BABASAHEB ON 14TH OCTO.1956.jpg

The Dhamma Lotus Movement arises from the historic revival of Buddhism in India led by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar — a revival not of ritual, but of dignity.

When millions embraced Dhamma in 1956, it was not merely a change of religious identity. It was a moral declaration: that no human being is inferior by birth, that reason must replace superstition, and that equality must replace hierarchy. This revival restored Buddhism to the land of its origin as a living force for social transformation.

For the converts, in reality, it was homecoming. Dhamma became a source of psychological strength, self-respect, and collective organization. It nurtured education, constitutional awareness, women’s assertion, and leadership. It replaced shame with confidence and isolation with community. Conversion was not escape — it was empowerment.

The Dhamma Lotus Movement builds upon this legacy. It seeks to deepen the ethical foundations of Dhamma and to unite fragmented energies into a coordinated moral force. Its goal is not sectarian expansion, but social renewal rooted in compassion, rationality, and constitutional values.

In a nation where many communities continue to face discrimination and exclusion, the revival of Dhamma stands as a practical example: oppression can be answered not with hatred, but with ethical reconstruction. Social dignity can be reclaimed through organized wisdom.

The Movement invites all who believe in equality, non-violence, and justice to see Dhamma not as a private faith, but as a public commitment to human prosperity.

Dhamma Lotus is not only a remembrance of 1956.

It is a continuation.

OUR STEERING PIONEERS.

Our movement is guided by individuals who are deeply committed to Ambedkarite values and social justice. The leadership and advisory collective brings together educators, activists, professionals, and community thinkers who provide strategic direction, ethical guidance, and mentorship. Together, they ensure that our work remains inclusive, transparent, and aligned with the core principles of dignity, liberty, justice, and equality.

OUR GUIDING LIGHT:

We walk in the footsteps of two extraordinary beings:

Buddha

who taught us:

Compassion without weakness, Wisdom without fear, and Path without violence.

 And Babasaheb Ambedkar,

who taught us:

  • Freedom through education, Power through organization, Dignity through self-respect, And transformation through collective action.

Dhamma Lotus is not just a movement.
It is a mission to awaken minds, to reclaim dignity and a mission to build a generation rooted in Equality, Free Thinking, just Action and Compassionate Leadership. Dhamma Lotus is a community of learners, leaders, and change-makers. We rise not by slogans…
but by knowledge, organization, and action.

The Heart of Our Philosophy is : Free in thought, Just in action, We rise together,  In the footsteps of Buddha and Babasaheb.

This is not just our slogan, This is our vow.

Our struggles are our strength,  Our pain is our power, Our past is our foundation and Our future is our creation.

The Dhamma Lotus represents the rise of every person who refuses to stay silent, refuses to bow, and refuses to accept injustice.

Together, we rise, We organize, We enlighten and We transform.

COMMUNITY SOLIDARITY

Change is strongest when it is collective. We work to empower communities by fostering dialogue, encouraging participation, and supporting initiatives that promote self-reliance, solidarity, and social confidence.

OUR APPROACH:

SHARED NARRATIVE:

Unification cannot begin with organizational mergers.

It begins with unifying our emotions and  identity.

·       “Currently Buddhism, as visioned by Babasaheb Ambedkar, is one family with many homes.”

·       “Differences are natural, but the mission is one.”

·       “Equality, compassion and Awakened Bharat are our shared destinations.”

·       “We value all streams — cultural, scholarly, activist, monastic”, etc.

Shared Manifesto for  Buddhist Solidarity

1. Our Identity

We are heirs of a moral revolution that rejected caste, restored human dignity, and embraced Dhamma as the path of justice.

We stand on the foundation of equality, rationality, compassion, and constitutional morality.

2. Our Purpose

We come together not to erase differences, but to rise above division.

We seek to:

·       Build cooperation among  Buddhist organizations

·       Promote education, mental strength, and social dignity

·       Strengthen women’s leadership

·       Empower youth

·       Foster dialogue instead of rivalry

4. Our Vision

A united  Buddhist community:

·       Free from internal hostility

·       Guided by wisdom and compassion

Leading India toward equality and fraternity

YOUTH LEADERSHIP

The future of the movement lies with the youth. We focus on nurturing young leaders who are informed, empathetic, and fearless—leaders who can carry forward Ambedkar’s vision with integrity and innovation.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Women’s empowerment was a cornerstone of B. R. Ambedkar’s vision for a just society. He championed equal rights, education, and dignity for women, recognizing that true social progress is impossible without their liberation. We focus on uplifting women through awareness, leadership opportunities, and access to knowledge—empowering them to stand

Even today…
Millions seek equality, freedom of thought and struggle for justice.
Every great revolution in history began when ordinary people decided they deserved better.

The Dhamma Lotus stands for that decision.
A decision to rise, to awaken and to walk the path of knowledge, compassion, and justice.

confident, independent, and equal in every sphere of life.
